Pink Friday: Mascara

This is my find for the week. It was on sale 50% off. Maybelline New York Mascara. I don't put make up all the time but on days that I feel like it, I do make myself beautiful by putting some make up on. When, we are on date with hubby, I always put my make up on. Mascara is my bestfriend because it enhances my "beautiful" eyes.

Dry Skin

Because of the weather, my daughter had a skin eczema breakout. I need to use products which have a lot of moisturizer in it to help her skin.

Her pediatrician recommended to use the following:

• Johnson and Johnson Moisture Care Baby Bath
• Dove for Sensitive Skin
• Eucerin Moisturizer Creme

If you have a dry skin that needs to be moisturized, use eucerin. It is quite pricey though.

Heated Blanket

Few weeks ago, a heated blanket would have been very useful because our place was very cold to the point of almost unbearable. It was unusual for us to experience a very cold weather since it is already February but the weather these days become very unpredictable.

Now, they have their own styles and preferences.

Crowning Glory

My hair was my crowning glory. I used to have a straight, long and shiny black hair. During my high school and early college years, people will compliment me on how beautiful my hair was. Now, it is the opposite. Since I started using different commercial shampoos my hair has not been the same. I loss a lot of them already and it is not as healthy as it used to be. I badly needed an effective hair loss products.

Early in my childhood, I used natural products for my hair. Natural product which means, fresh aloe vera or fresh coconut milk or even fresh lemon squeeze. Sleepless

I was tempted to put "Sleepless in Seattle" as a title on my post as it is one of my favorite movies but I changed my mind.

Anyway, sometimes I feel restless and couldn't sleep. At times, when I have so many things in my mind especially thinking about my family in the Philippines, I can't help but not able to sleep. I hate tossing around the bed as I know I will disturb my husband's sleep. At times when I wanted to sleep and I can't, it makes me think of buying the best sleeping pill in the market. There are just times also that I just can sleep for no explainable reasons and when that happens it frustrates me. I can imagine the pain those insomniac people are feeling.

Mom's Health

We have noticed that my mom's health is failing lately. She has been sickly and been to few doctors already. We understand that she is stressed because she said that she is sad thinking that my other sister and her family will be migrating to New Zealand soon.

Just the other day, mom had several tests again and we have found out that she is diabetic. Actually, we were not very surprise as diabetes runs in our family. I told my Mom she needs to be particular with her food intake now. She definitely needs a proper diet. I was wondering if diet pills will help her on her diet. Hmm, I need to check on that.

My sister finally landed a job as a nurse two weeks ago. We haven't talk a lot like we used to because she is still adjusting to her new schedule. I am so proud of her because finally she is starting to reap the rewards of all those sleepless nights making sure that she finishes her studies with flying colors.

My "Laundry" Story

I grew up doing household chores. It was imperative that we do our assign task every day! Weekends were scheduled for laundry. During summer time, we do our laundry at the river because there is no water supply nearby. Yes, we do manual laundry.

Ever since I can remember, I am allergic to laundry detergent. Every after I washed clothes, I will have small wounds on my hands. I will have itchy hands thereafter. Despite all those, I still don't have a choice but to help do the laundry. When I started working, it was the time that I help less in doing laundry. My brothers and sisters do my laundry.

One of my mother's worry when I got married was how will I survive since I end up not being domesticated. In the end, I was able to adjust and I did pretty well (on some things!).

My entry for this week is my little girl in pink with her Mommy and Baby Dora in pink too!

My daughter at her age is still fascinated on everything about Dora. She does like other things than Dora. There was a time that she will only watch Dora movies but now, she likes to watch different variety already.

Because she likes dora, you can see her wardrobe is mostly dora stuff.

A Day of Pure Fun

Few days ago we were invited by one of my Filipino friends to their new place. We were excited because she also have 2 kids which are a little bit older than mine. I was looking forward to it because I know that my daughter will have a lot of fun playing with her kids and other kids too.

True enough, my daughter had a blast! Surprisingly the weather that day was very nice. It was sunny and the temperature was in the 70s. It was a perfect day to play. My friend has one of those beautiful wood swing sets in their backyard. All our kids are having fun swinging, climbing and sliding. While the kids are having fun, we (the mothers) were also having fun catching up with our lives while eating some Filipino foods.

It was a great day for all of us. It is always great to see my daughter enjoying the company of other kids as she seldom have a playmate with her age group. It was also good for us (mothers) to be with each other chit chatting about life!

Chapped Lips

Every now and then, I suffer from chapped lips. I didn't know that chapped lips is very common. Chapped lips (cheilitis) are lips that appear dry, scaly, and may have one or more small cracks (fissures). Because I experienced this all year round, I managed to research and learned the following tips to prevent chapped lips:

• Protect your lips. Use an oil-based lubricating cream or lip balm containing petrolatum or beeswax.
  
  
• Avoid licking your lips. Saliva evaporates quickly, leaving lips drier than before you licked them.
  


• Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids, and moisten the air in your home with a humidifier.
  


• Breathe through your nose. Breathing through your mouth can cause your lips to dry out.
