Sunscreen... Why Wear Them?

Excessive sun exposure is thought to be the primary cause of skin cancer. Sunbathing and tanning appears to be responsible for the rise in skin cancer rates. Experts agree that sunscreen is the next best defense against skin cancer.

Several studies by health leaders in the United States lend credence to the importance of sunscreen. The following organizations declare sunscreen a necessary tool in the prevention of skin cancer:
  • American Academy of Dermatology
  • American Academy of Pediatrics
  • American Cancer Society
  • American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons
  • US Department of Heath and Human Services
With all these organizations, recommending to wear sunscreen, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. If it helps to protect us, then we should wear them.

Although there are skin types that are more susceptible to skin cancer, we all should be vigilant because catching too many rays will harm your skin whatever type of skin you have. So let's maintain a healthy skin and healthy body.

Romper Craze

A romper suit is a one-piece garment worn by children and sometimes women. Somewhat similar to a coverall, it is loose fitting and usually has shorter legs that may be gathered at the end. They were very popular as playwear for younger children because people thought they were ideal for movement. Rompers were in many ways the first modern casual clothes for children. They were light and loose fitting, a major change from the much more restrictive clothing children wore during the 19th Century Victorian era.

Have you noticed that even grown women wear rompers now? Yes, that's the in fashion these days. Women of all ages are crazy about wearing rompers. In fact, whatever store you go to, you can always find different rompers. Rompers price ranges from the below 20's to 500's....

Of course, I have my rompers too and so does Andrea!

This is Andrea's romper which I bought in Target at $6

Black Dress

Black dress has become the epitome of timeless fashion. It is the answer to every "What should I wear to..." question from cocktail parties to casinos to class reunions.

The concept of the little black dress never changes, much unlike the trend-crazed industry. It remains the height of chicness. Did you know that it was Coco Channel who introduced the black dress to the world of fashion in the year 1926? Since then, the black dress became always in style.

Eco-Fashion Bags

The term “eco-fashion” refers to stylized clothing that uses environmentally sensitive fabrics and responsible production techniques. Eco-fashion has been so hot because more and more people are trying to help save mother earth.

Eco-fashion clothes and accessories are made using organic raw materials, such as cotton grown without pesticides, or re-used materials such as recycled plastic from old soda bottles. Eco-fashions don't involve the use of harmful chemicals and bleaches to color fabrics—and are made by people earning fair wages in healthy working conditions.

Sunglasses

Often sunglasses are worn to make a fashion statement or to cut out glare. But sunglasses can offer more than that. Sunglasses can offer protection from the harmful effects of damaging UV rays from the sun. Just like you would apply sunscreen to protect your skin, UV-treated sunglasses act like a protective shield from the harsh effects of the sun.

With so much at stake, it is imperative to wear UV sunglasses to protect your eyes and promote eye health in the long run. Nowadays, you can get the right pair of sunglasses that will offer UV protection and at the same time make a fashion statement.

Here's my daughter's sunglasses... of course, for fashion statement!
